Plier type tools rely on the strength of your grip, which is ok for the smaller aluminium rivnuts but if your fitting un-serrated or larger M6 - M10 steel rivnuts you may find the rivnuts turn when fitting the final screw/bolt. Using our tool you can increase the amount of torque applied when setting the rivnut thus reducing the chance of the rivnut turning. M3 - Use a 10mm spanner to hold the bolt and tighten the nut with a second 10mm spanner to expand the rivnut. M4 & M5 - Assuming you have the correct size drill for the rivnut and the material is the correct specified thickness for the rivnut. Use a 13mm open ended spanner to hold the bush and tighten the nut with a 13mm spanner or long socket. However if the rivnut just turns in the hole due to wrong size drill or material is thinner than specified DONT PANIC! Use a 13mm spanner to hold the bolt and tighten the nut with a 13mm spanner.M6 - Assuming you have the correct size drill for the rivnut and the material is the correct specified thickness for the rivnut. Use a 13mm open ended spanner to hold the bush and tighten the nut with a 10mm spanner / socket.
Use a 4mm Allen key to hold the bolt and tighten the nut with a second 10mm spanner. M8 - Assuming you have the correct size drill for the rivnut and the material is the correct specified thickness for the rivnut. Use a 5mm hex key/socket to hold the bolt and tighten the nut with a 13mm spanner. M10 - Assuming you have the correct size drill for the rivnut and the material is the correct specified thickness for the rivnut. Use a 13mm open ended spanner to hold the bush and tighten the nut with a 17mm spanner or long socket.
Use a 6mm hex key/spanner to hold the bolt and tighten the nut with a 17mm spanner.
